Seven Easy Ways to Generate Traffic to Your Site

Here you will find seven of the easiest ways to generate traffic to your site, whether it's for revenue or for the mere fun of it.

Here's your scenario.. You're excited because you just made a blog. You whip up a few interesting posts and wait, and wait, and wait. Where is everyone?

Real life: There are millions of blogs! People won't just happen to write your blog's name into their address bar and hit go. You have to put it out to them, make it available, attract users. Here are 7 easy ways to get more traffic to your website.

- Have an Attractive Website Name
First of all, make sure you have an attractive blog name, that people might search for on Google. Not something like Vixashis or C0mpi00ter, but something that would spark interest, such as SciFi or AppleTech.

- Submit Your Website to Google
This is to make it more accessible. You can't just expect people to type up your website's name, they must find it linked somewhere, or advertised. To submit your site to Google, click here. (Attention: This does not always work!)

- Do Some Traffic Exchange
Traffic exchange is the exchanging of traffic between you and other. What you do is surf websites of others, and in return, others will surf yours. It's not a great way to get traffic, but if you have an attractive home page or post, people might favorite your site. Some popular traffic exchange sites are: EasyHits4U, Bravenet Traffic, Exchange, TrafficG

- Write an Interesting Article on Digg
There is a catch though, your article must link back to your website. This will generate lots of traffic. Register for Digg here.

- StumbleUpon Your Website
In order to do this you must first register and download the toolbar from StumbleUpon. Important!: On the sign up page, right next to Join and Download Now, make sure "Show website ratings & reviews next to search results" is checked. After your toolbar is installed (compatible with Firefox and IE), go to your website, and on the top, in t he Stumble toolbar, click "I like it!" (thumbs up), and write a little review (make sure it's positive!) of your own website.

- Submit Your Site
This will make your website more out there to others when they search on the Web. What FreeWebSubmissions does is submits your site to web engines for you. All you need to do is put in your website link and your email. Submit your sites now.

- Use the Viral Traffic System
This system is rumored to be the best way to generate more traffic, the downside is you get one advertising email a week (meaning your email is sold to advertisers). Make sure not to use your main email!
